Cedar Memorial Hospital Opens Oncology and Infusion Center, Bringing Comprehensive Cancer Care Home
September 14, 2026 – Cedar County Memorial Hospital is proud to announce the opening of its new Oncology and Infusion service, bringing comprehensive cancer care to the county for the first time and offering a major reduction in travel time for area patients. The service combines local access with the strength of a world class collaborative team of medical oncologists, oncology specialists, and dedicated support staff.
Dr. Manan Mehta serves as the primary oncologist, providing direct patient care and building trusted relationships with patients and families throughout Cedar County and surrounding communities. With more than 20 years of experience in community oncology and building cancer programs, Dr. Mehta brings extensive expertise in delivering high-quality, community-based care.
Care is augmented by a broader physician team that collaborates with Dr. Mehta on complex cases. This team includes nationally recognized specialists with training from Harvard Medical School and experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, bringing the knowledge and resources of leading cancer programs to the community without the burden of traveling far from home.
Every patient is also supported by a dedicated Community & Patient Liaison, a consistent guide who coordinates appointments, answers questions about treatment and insurance, and helps remove barriers to care. With the liaison, patients always have a compassionate partner who knows their story and supports them every step of the way.
